A bit about Jon

Jon Bettcher

Jon is a Software Engineer residing in Mountain View, California.  He has just graduated from Villanova University with a Master of Technology Management degree. Jon is currently seeking a career serving as a software engineer, senior developer or software architect on an agile-minded programming team, preferably with a physical presence in the San Francisco Bay Area. Jon specializes in building web applications with test driven development techniques in Ruby on Rails.

In addition to helping build software solutions for growing businesses, Jon’s professional interests include

• Social Media, transparency and connecting people on the Internet
• Agile programming of any kind, but especially web programing using Ruby on Rails
• The concept of co-working as a way for independents and remote workers to interact “over the water cooler”.  Jon visits Independents Hall in Philly when he can.
• New media technologies to enable communication anywhere.  These include Wikis (MediaWiki and Trac), Blogs and content management systems (Wordpress, Drupal) and web based project management tools (Trac and Basecamp)
